EcoArt Mosaic – Where Recycling Meets Creativity in Lebanon

At the heart of the project is a simple yet powerful idea: turning recycled local glass into beautiful mosaic art. Through hands-on workshops, thousands of participants-ranging from students to families and environmental clubs-have learned how to turn waste into artistic expression. Over 1,000 people have already taken part, and more than 30 partnerships with schools, universities, and businesses have been forged.

Unlike traditional mosaic-making, which often uses imported or non-recyclable materials, EcoArt Mosaic uses locally sourced glass, natural sand, and gypsum, making the process both eco-friendly and culturally rooted. With every piece created, participants reduce landfill waste, cut down on the need for new resources, and gain a deeper understanding of environmental responsibility.

The initiative is also scaling through the Mosaic Arts Box-an educational DIY kit that includes tools, eco-friendly materials, and information about the recycling process. Designed for all ages, the kit turns sustainability into a tactile and creative experience.

EcoArt Mosaic has also made a mark on eco-tourism, collaborating with local tourism agencies to promote Lebanon’s cultural heritage through green art experiences. Whether in a school workshop or a tourist activity, the project demonstrates how artistic expression can help build a more sustainable future.
