The Commission and the European External Action Service (EEAS) launched the third edition of the popular #ForOurPlanet campaign on Tuesday, World Earth Day 2025.
Under the motto "Big changes often start small”, the campaign calls on citizens and organised civil society to take action for nature and for our planet. Together. we want to show that we care for our planet, despite – or rather because of – the challenging context we live in.
This new edition is all about the circular economy. Why? Because circularity is the only sustainable way to grow our European economy and secure the welfare of our citizens in a world with limited resources and high pressure on nature and climate. Ask Mario Draghi if you don’t believe us.
The circular economy is a major priority for the EU, and ambitious policies are in place or being developed to get companies and investors fully on board.
But what can we do as individuals? More than you think!
Whether it is sharing garden tools, repairing kitchen utensils instead of binning them at the smallest defect, or giving your favourite clothes a second life. Maybe you plan to organise a repair café in your neighbourhood, a clothes swap with friends or colleagues, or an open library on the corner of the street? That’s the kind of action we’re aiming for!
How can I take part in the campaign?
Taking part is easy. Think of an action, do it, and let us know on your favourite platform. That’s it!
If you are more of a talker than a doer, you can inspire others by sharing tips & tricks, circular life hacks or new insights. Just make sure that they are science-based – no disinformation, please!
